Course Description--This is a designed program of study for juniors and seniors who are interested in a nursing/health/medical career. During the first semester, students will learn basic human anatomy, entry level skills to provide nursing care to patients and current health issues. During the second semester, students will learn advanced skills for patient care and begin to investigate disease processes. During clinical rotations, the students will be able to participate in a variety of community based health facilities. Upon completion, the student will be a Certified Nursing Assistant and will take the Geriatric Nursing Assistant exam. Other certifications include CPR, First aid, emergency oxygen administration, child care, and blood borne pathogens.
