This program provides knowledge and skills in a wide variety of areas; residential and commercial electrical systems, drafting, welding, mechanical system repairs, hydraulics, preumatics, and steam power.

Industrial facilities on the Eastern Shore are desperately seeking maintenance technicians and are paying some of the highest hourly wages available. Our program will provide students with the skills they need to be competitive in this job market, as facilities maintenance, repair and fabrication technicians. In addition, this information will provide a fundamental background for any student pursuing an engineering degree in college.

Fundaments of Industrial Technology
Drafting and Print Reading

This course is the introductory course in Advanced Manufacturing completer program and is required for all students. Students will be introduced to planning and scheduling production processing and material usage. Topics include industry process, broad troubleshooting, quality control, product development and communications.

This course is the Concentrator Course in the Industrial Technology program. Students will develop the ability to read, interpret, and prepare technical plans, blue print drawings, schematics and technical manuals. Communication and teamwork will be emphasized as well as safe practices in the workplace. Techniques for achieving client and customer satisfaction will be included.

Fluid Power Systems
Mechanical Systems

This course covers the basic principles of hydraulic and pneumatic systems including fluids, pumps, valves, fittings, and motors. Students will learn the principles of fluid power systems, and develop the ability to install, service, adjust, and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Welding principles will also be covered

This course covers the installation and maintenance of mechanical drives with an emphasis on developing the ability to install, align and adjust, and troubleshoot various drives. Students will learn the principles of fluid mechanics, basic measurement, proper tools and safety in the workplace.

Electrical Systems

This course covers the fundamentals of electricity and electronics. Students will understand the basic elements of electrical systems and develop the ability to use specific equipment necessary to complete electrical and electronic projects.
