Caroline County Schools Special Education department is divided into three main ares: Infants/Toddlers, Pre-school, and School-Age. Each of these programs will carry your child from birth all the way to age 21.

INFANTS & TODDLERS/ PRESCHOOL SERVICES

 

v    What is the Infants and Toddlers program?  An interagency program for families with infants and toddlers who may be experiencing a delay in development or who have a diagnosed condition that has a high probability of delay.

v    Who should be referred?  A child with a suspected developmental delay, birth through age three, is eligible for screening and assessment to identify early and intervention needs in the areas of:

 

o      Speech/Language

o      Physical Development

o      Cognitive Development

o      Psycho-Social Development

o      Self-help Skills

 

v    How much does it cost?  The program utilizes a variety of public and private funding sources, but without cost to the family.

 

THE INFANTS AND TODDLERS PROGRAM MAY BE ABLE TO HELP BY PROVIDINGÉ

 

o      Screening by a team of professionals

o      Access to appropriate agencies to meet your child special needs

o      A single contact person to help you find the services that best fit your needs

o      Assistance in meeting the familyÕs needs
